Glastonbury festival in HD Sound via the Radio 6 Music station

BBC 6 Music announced that HD audio through the radio station broadcasting its coverage of the Glastonbury festival is.

The Beeb HD is offering its products in October, promised that "the BBC's highest audio quality broadcast to date" as well as "a wider dynamic range, accentuating the difference in volume between quiet and loud sounds" and high bit-rate encoding for better sound start

The BBC radio coverage from the festival kicked off on Thursday, with a special triple-cast incorporating Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show, Jo Whiley's Radio 2 show and Steve Lamacq's Radio 6 Music show.

Adam & radio coverage throughout the week to close at 10am with the show will be kicking every day.

Paul Rodgers, BBC Radio 6 Music says: "To be able to offer 6 Music's coverage in HD quality upgrades our offering this year. I hope it will enhance the experience for those listeners enjoying the festival from the comfort of their own mud free living rooms."

The BBC is also covering the festival online and BBC Two, three and four as the Red button coverage across.
