Jersey band Brave Yesterday will be confirmed to perform at the Glastonbury Music Festival 2011 on the John Peel Stage.
Local band known artists who first Ellie Goulding and Mumford and including children at the beginning of their careers taken to John Peel stage will include a list.
Bassist Alex Pitt said: "We couldn't really believe it when we first got approached about playing the John Peel Stage at Glasto, we'd only just finished playing our set on the Jersey Live main stage at the time, it was quite a lot to take in! We're so chuffed though, two years on and we're actually going to be playing on one of the most hyped stages at Glastonbury."
Brave Yesterday will be the first Jersey band will perform at Glastonbury Festival. If their local performances by are anything to go, then get ready for a tight definition, the world's most coveted outdoor music events are one of the center.
Lead singer Chris Nutter said: "We have been given an opportunity to represent Jersey music on an international stage; we only hope that we can live up to the challenge and put on a good show!! We will be flying the Jersey (and Canadian) flag(s) with pride on stage and taking the opportunity to soak up as much of the Glastonbury atmosphere and surrounding talent as we can. We feel extremely lucky to have this opportunity and it will not be taken for granted!"
